What Happened
On the 14th July 2008 the conference was held at Monte Sant’ Angelo Mercy College North Sydney.
Features of the day included:
- Key note speakers sharing their Mercy experiences.
- An interactive Social Action Fair featuring a number of organisations working in the area of Social Justice.
- Workshops exploring what it meant to be Mercy.
- A fun, upbeat interactive and motivational workshop known as Shake - it.
- Opportunities to meet people from other Mercy schools.
- An exploration of Australian Indigenous Spirituality.
- And just for fun a bush dance.
Overall, the day aimed:
- to examine what it means to be Mercy
- to provide an opportunity to allow the spirit of Mercy to become a “living thing”
- to provide an opportunity where Mercy people can connect with each other on this day and beyond.
Participants
The day saw some 950 Mercy Minded people come together. This included staff and young people from our schools and communities throughout Australia and the World, as well as ex-student facilitators, guest speakers and representatives from The Sisters of Mercy.
